The Road Rocket received the adulation of the press when introduced to the market in the mid 1950’s – apart from the ROCKET front guard emblem that the press of the day thought more suited to being a bonnet mascot of a luxury car! They’d eat their words today as that Rocket mascot would fetch a tidy sum if sold separately.
At 646cc the 4 speed Road Rocket boasted a whopping 40 BHP !
The ’58 model received upgrades that included a fully enclosed chain – this example also has the original and very rare monoblock AMAL carburettor.
And to cap it off, this bike has only covered 2,719 Miles from new – that’s right 2,719 ! This bike was tightly held by a lifetime collector for most of its existence – we are privileged to be able to offer it for sale.
She is not in concours condition – there are a few age marks and bangs – but overall she is a very impressive bit of kit.
